Meal Prep for Busy Weeks: A Simple 3-Step System

You do not need to cook for six hours on Sunday. Prep components, not full meals, and stay flexible all week.

By FitDailyLab Team ·

The easiest meal prep approach is to prepare building blocks you can mix and match, rather than portioning out identical meals for the whole week.

The 3-step system

  • Cook one or two proteins, such as baked chicken or lentils
  • Prepare a grain or starch, such as rice, quinoa or roasted potatoes
  • Wash and chop vegetables, and make one flavourful sauce

Keep it fresh and safe

Cool food quickly, store it in airtight containers and aim to eat cooked meals within three to four days. Freeze extra portions for later in the week.
